Banksy the ominous street artist

At school in Art we have bean learning about Banksy the ominous street artist.

When ever he did his art people walked by or sirens were ringing so he went home and made a Stencil to make his art faster.  We are making stencils at school like Banksy and we are going to sponge black on top of it. Here is Banksy art:      

I found it interesting that Banksy is always making a statement with his art. Why has Bansky exchanged this protester's grenade for a bunch of flowers? What is Bansky trying to say?

Te Huarere animation
